Please consider donating to help me buy a power chair

I am having trouble getting a suitable, or in fact any, wheelchair from wheelchair services Gloucestershire, I have done a lot of research and found the most suitable option to be a refurbished  Frontier X5 power chair, this with the necessary adaptations will cost over £9000!  So I am asking you to please help me, I don’t like begging or taking charity but unfortunately I am left with little choice.

About Me -

I am 37 years old and have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, this is a muscle wasting disease which currently has no cure. I have been trying to get a wheelchair or voucher from NHS Gloucestershire since 2010, without a wheelchair I am bed bound and cannot leave my bedroom except on a stretcher or bed.

Wheelchair Services Gloucestershire refuse to supply me with a chair that meets my clinical and social needs, all they offer is a chair that costs less than £2000, this chair does not recline far enough for my medication to be administered while out, is limited to pavement use (I can’t go to the park and if a pavement is blocked I cannot use the road and am expected to either get a taxi or find another route), and has a standard joystick which I find difficult to use.

I have three dogs and a wonderful Goddaughter that I would like to go out with, I previously had a wheelchair for 14 years which I regularly used, I visited parks, went for ‘walks’ in the countryside and went on trips with family and friends.  I am hoping to be able to get back to this lifestyle in the future and have managed to raise £4000 from various charities towards the cost of a wheelchair, but I still need another £5000, please consider donating.

There are two ways to donate via PayPal, the simplest is to use the donate button above, but this incurs a fee from PayPal so I won’t receive all the money you send, the second way is still simple but will take you a fem seconds longer, this incurs no fee if you have a bank account associated with your PayPal account and a smaller fee if you are using a credit/debit card.

The best method -

Login to your PayPal account securely at https://www.paypal.com then select the “Send Money” tab

In the email field put daniel.vs.nhs@gmail.com in the amount put as much or as little as you like, every donation is greatly appreciated, at the bottom select “Personal” and then “Gift”, then press the continue button.

The final thing to do is check the amount is correct, then press the Send Money button.
